Philipp’s personal recommendation!
Made from a special selection of Grand Cru plots from Verzy and Verzenay and blended with oak-aged reserve wines, it perfectly represents the terroir and style of Maison Penet: richness, complexity, and minerality—a style for wine connoisseurs! It rests on its lees for at least six years. Particular attention is paid to its ageing, which follows the "Réserve perpétuelle" principle in barrels and then in vats before being bottled for at least six years on its lees. The wine has a magnificent golden color, hinting at maturity, and a rich fruit character on the palate. The attack is round and full of ripe grapefruit and melon, alternating with vanilla and a hint of toasted nuts on the mid-palate. A taut vein of acidity gives the wine great balance, followed by a magnificent and very long mineral finish. This champagne is perfect as an aperitif or with refined dishes. For example, it goes perfectly with salmon toast and a tasty chicken à la crème.
