An outstanding Grand Cru Champagne from Alain Bernard. The grapes for this exceptional winemaker champagne come exclusively from a small vineyard in Ay, measuring 4,500 square meters. This results in a production of just a few hundred bottles. The 2012 Blanc de Noirs was produced without dosage, meaning no additional sugar was added. This once again underscores the quality of the grapes from Ay. Only the cuvée, the juice from the first pressing, is used in the production, a measure that is clearly noticeable on the palate. This winemaker champagne matured on the lees for 84 months.

The champagne presents itself in a fine golden robe with brilliant golden reflections. The effervescence is lively, finely foamy, and creamy. The 2012 Grand Cru is wonderfully balanced, yet retains a delicate acidity. The noble Blanc de Noirs impresses with its finesse, complexity, good structure, and harmony. The champagne fascinates with a seductively expressive nose, with a composition of ripe fruit, notes of blackberries and wild strawberries, orange, delicate roasted aromas, and a light smoky note. On the palate, the champagne is full-bodied, full-bodied, and substantial, with a subtle smokiness and an invigorating freshness. Smooth elegance in perfect harmony. Medium to full-bodied. Good length follows, with an excellent finish.
